Job Description

Summary This position is located in the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Wray Feld Office. The incumbent provides professional services in the planning and application of soil, water, and resource conservation and development activities on ranches and farms. Responsibilities Assists ranchers by evaluating rangeland conditions, advising on crops and grasses, planning water development, guiding irrigation, and calculating feed and forage needs. Follows up with cooperators to implement the plans, determine successes or failure of established practices, and give assistance in establishment of supplemental practices. Supports farmers and ranchers by assessing resources, identifying conservation needs, and developing land-appropriate conservation plans. Monitors rangeland trends, evaluates grazing use and productivity, and helps landowners align grazing plans with available forage.
