Radiation Control Technician
Position Overview: Responsible for performing radiological control activities in support of HPDU production operations at BWXT. This role ensures the safe handling of depleted uranium (DU) by conducting radiological surveys, monitoring personnel and work areas, and implementing contamination and exposure controls. The position works closely with operations, safety, and engineering teams to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and support a strong radiological safety culture.
Location: On-site in Jonesborough, Tennessee
Your Day to Day as a HPDU Radiation Control Technician:
- Performs routine and special radiological surveys, including contamination, radiation, and airborne radioactivity monitoring.
- Collects and analyzes air samples and smears to assess radiological conditions.
- Implements and maintains contamination control measures to prevent the spread of radioactive materials.
