Salary and Hours

Salary: £26,806 – £27,032 (pro rata for part‑time and sessional). Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional.

School Overview

Balerno High School is a six‑year comprehensive serving Balerno, Ratho and Kirknewton. The school has close liaison with the associated primaries in each of these communities. An active Parent Council supports us.

The roll for session 2026‑2027 is 890 pupils in years S1 to S6. Around twenty‑five percent of our pupils are enrolled as placing requests from outside the catchment. Our school has an excellent academic reputation and a vibrant extra‑curricular and enrichment programme.
