Psychiatry Role in Cowichan Valley

Vancouver Island Health Authority invites a General Psychiatrist to the Cowichan Valley Department of Psychiatry. This role encompasses diverse mental health services, combining community support with inpatient care.
You will be essential to our Mental Health and Substance Use programs, providing short-term services, case management, and substance use counseling. The role involves working with a crisis response team and assisting senior and adult psychiatric facilities. You will also contribute to community opioid crisis responses and attend clinical team meetings to enhance our service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide community crisis response and brief interventions
• Manage cases and offer community treatment
• Ensure access to substance use treatment programs
• Participate in services for seniors and adults
• Conduct psychiatrist on-call responses in the hospital
Requirements:
• Provisional CPSBC License is necessary
