Overview

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups, with a history spanning more than 60 years. This role involves conducting probabilistic safety assessments (PSA) to support the design, operation, and refurbishment of CANDU nuclear power plants.

Responsibilities

• Perform probabilistic safety assessments for internal events, including shutdown states, internal fire/flood, seismic events, and other external hazards.
• Conduct reliability assessments of process, safety, and balance‑of‑plant systems, including emergency core cooling and containment.
• Interface with clients and projects to assess operational and safety issues, advise on solutions, and prepare or review internal and external work proposals.
• Develop risk monitors and risk‑generation assessments using Canadian, U.S., and IAEA PSA methodologies, codes, and standards.
