Postdoctoral Researcher At The Nanomalaria Group (Barcelona)

Introduction to the vacant position

The Nanomalaria Group is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the development of the new antiplasmodial compound YAT****. The contract will be within the framework of one of the research lines of the Nanomalaria Group, whose objective is the characterization of the inhibition of protein aggregation as a novel mode of action of future antimalarial drugs.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Perform growth inhibition assays using Plasmodium falciparum and Leishmania infantum in vitro cultures.
• Conduct RNAseq, pulldowns and cellular thermal shift assays.
• Computational analysis of genomes and of disordered protein regions.
• Analyze protein condensates formed through liquid-liquid phase separation.
• Generate knock-out P. falciparum and L. infantum lines using molecular biology approaches.
