Description

The Department of Microbiology has various cutting-edge research to improve our understanding of important aspects of microorganisms, including disease prevalence, pathogenesis, diagnosis and intervention. We concentrate on clinically important microorganisms that pose an imminent threat to human health, including human cancers, respiratory viruses, antimicrobial resistance, novel antimicrobial discovery and gut microbiome.

Our team consists of a group of young and dynamic researchers and postgraduate students. We focus on oncoviruses, understanding viral pathogenesis and exploring ways to stop the viruses from causing diseases.

Applicants should have/be (i) a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree with a fundamental research background in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or related disciplines within the last five years; (ii) proficient in cell/molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, protein analyse...
