Job Description
Description
An NIH-funded Postdoctoral Fellow position is available at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City to participate in studies on the function of ligand activated nuclear hormone transcription factors (particularly vitamin D and glucocorticoid receptors, VDR and GR) in mammalian erythropoiesis at steady-state and under conditions of stress. We are currently investigating the possible involvement of circadian rhythm and inflammation pathways in the mechanisms by which VDR and GR regulate erythroid progenitors. These studies may lead to the identification of novel molecular targets in erythroid progenitors that can be exploited to develop new therapies for anemias and other red cell disorders. The ability to modulate ex vivo expansion or differentiation of RBC progentors in new ways would have clear clinical utility. Interested candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and should have a strong record of accomplishment and experience in molecula...
