Postdoctoral Fellow in catalytic biomass valorization

To transform the current energy system into a sustainable one, new catalytic processes for converting biomass into chemical energy carriers, platform chemicals, or high-value chemicals are being developed. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to these efforts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct innovative research in biomass-related catalysis, developing new catalysts, safeguard materials, and reaction systems to convert biomass thermochemically.
• Acquire third‑party funded projects within biomass conversion, catalysis, and biochemicals.
• Perform physico‑chemical analyses of catalysts and solid samples (N2 adsorption, XRD, EM, TGA, XAS).
• Initiate collaborations with other groups inside and outside PSI.
• Publish in scientific journals and present at international conferences and workshops.
