Post-Doctoral Position - 2 photon imaging cell transplantation
University of Maryland, Baltimore
Job Description
A full-time postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Yajie Liang at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Center for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine and Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, for ongoing laboratory research on neural stem cell labeling, transplantation, and 2-photon Imaging in the mouse model of ischemic stroke. A major focus of the laboratory is to apply the long-term intravital single-cell tracking (LIST) under 2-photon microscopy to study the dynamics of grafted neural stem cells (human iPSC-derived neural progenitors) and interactions with host environment through genetically encoded probes. We will employ multi-disciplinary approaches including molecular biology, cell culture, morphological and functional 2P imaging and high-field MRI in live animals to study donor-host interactions and seek measures to improve the survival, migration and integration of transplanted stem cells. We expect th...
