HKUST is building a research center on Generative AI (HKGAI Center) and we are seeking highly motivated researchers to join our dynamic team focused on the development of large language models (LLMs) and their application in various subjects. The appointees will have the opportunity to participate in the whole product life cycle of research and development. 

Responsibilities
Specific duties vary according to projects and the applicants’ expertise, including academic research, prototype building, technology productization, project management, as well as HKGAI activities. 

Some ongoing R&D lines include:
Data curation for LLMs, including data acquisition, deduplication, toxicity and bias control, data blending and augmentation, and so on; 
Building of LLMs, including pre-training, continual learning, MoE, peft, SFT, hallucination alleviation, human alignment, and so on; and
