Port Operative/Rigger

Stafforce Ports are recruiting for Rigger/Lasher Port Operatives to work for for our prestigious client at Tilbury Docks.

Responsibilities:

• Working on ships/vessels supporting the loading and unloading of containers and lorry trailers.
• You will form part of a team chaining & unchaining cargo on the ship to secure it prior to sailing.
• Potentially working as a Banks-person controlling traffic onboard the vessel and ensuring the safe positioning of your team.
• You will need to inspect tools and cargo and report any safety concerns or damages.
• Abide by all health & safety protocols to aid in ensuring yourself & colleagues remain safe in the workplace.

Skills:

• Previous port experience is a benefit but not essential as full & comprehensive training will be provided.
• Be able to pass safety critical environment test such as drug & alcohol testing.
