Port Captain

Responsibilities Coordination of vessels during its time in the port/s. Gather and maintain up-to-date information on port facilities, restrictions, and operational guidelines Provide operational assistance for the vessel operators during the port call. Develop commercial relationships with ports / port officials / terminals / etc. Vessel Inspections for commercial / vetting / fleet / QSHE departments. Negotiation of rates with stevedores, agents and other services needed in the port. To work closely with each terminal's management and stevedores, i.e. holding pre-planning meetings, attending port meetings, etc. Manage Cargo stowage and Cargo intake optimization. Project assistance for chartering, cargo and port inspection. Ensure all cargo identified are safe for transportation in accordance with IMSBC and Dangerous Goods Code.
