Pipe Layer

A  Pipe Layer  (also known as a Pipe Installer) is a skilled construction worker responsible for assembling, connecting, and installing underground piping systems for infrastructure, such as water mains, sewers, drains, and storm systems.

Unlike  Pipe Fitters  who primarily work on indoor systems, pipe layers work  outdoors  on civil and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities Site Preparation :

• Digging and grading trenches to the correct depth and slope using hand tools (shovels, picks) or heavy machinery like excavators and backhoes.

Pipe Installation :

• Measuring, cutting, and positioning pipe sections into trenches while ensuring proper alignment and elevation using instruments like  pipe lasers, grade rods, and transit levels .
