Physicist Internship - 2026 summer placement

Overview

Our projects are highly diverse and require an appetite for rapid learning and problem solving. Recent work includes:

• Development of a novel imaging system based on multi-wavelength holography
• Design, simulation and manufacture of a custom ultrasonic measurement system
• Development of a miniaturised magnetic positioning system for a high-volume consumer product
• Teardown and reverse engineering of a complex high-power laser instrument for industrial application
• Technical analysis of a superconducting power distribution system

Responsibilities

You will work alongside a project team to deliver solutions for external customers, combining practical laboratory experimentation with simulation and physical modelling.
