Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Provide medical expertise in occupational health and related disciplines in conjunction with the organization's medical program. Conduct pre-employment physical examinations, periodic check-ups, and medical treatment of occupational illnesses and injuries.
Evaluate the health status of each employee and assist management in placement of each employee in work that can be performed without undue hazard to themselves, fellow workers, plant facilities, site environments, and the public at large. Provide prompt diagnosis and treatment of occupational injury or disease with emphasis on rehabilitation and return to work at the earliest possible time compatible with job safety and the employee's health, and when necessary, to refer such employees for specialty consultation or treatment or in-hospital care.
