Job Description

Summary The Designated Education Officer (DEO) is the designated VAMC employee who has oversight responsibility for all health professions training at the VAMC. In addition to the DEO role, the physician will be responsible for the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention program. An all-encompassing culture of health promotion and disease prevention throughout the continuum of care that supports Veterans in achieving optimal health and well-being. Responsibilities The DEO provides leadership, advice, and subject matter expertise in tasks, projects, and assignments related to Health Professions Education programs that includes both Residency, Medical Student and Associated Health Programs. Provides policy development, analysis, decision making, and implementation activities affecting the VA health care system.
