Responsibilities

+ Perform venipuncture and other blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles with a high level of skill and care.

+ Collect, label, and store blood and other specimens (such as urine or fecal samples) according to established procedures and protocols.

+ Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients to help them feel at ease.
