Responsibilities

+ Obtain blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and other appropriate phlebotomy techniques.

+ Collect nonblood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing.

+ Perform screening tests on collected specimens and report results clearly and accurately.

+ Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing according to established protocols.
