Phlebotomist, Full Time Days, Pre-Admission Test/ Screening, Summit, NJ

Supports completion of outpatient testing by performing venipuncture, electrocardiogram (EKG), mid-turbinate swabs, and colleting additional laboratory testing as ordered by the provider. Assists with rooming patients for appointments with physician and anesthesia team as needed and performs vital signs.

+ Performs venipuncture in a safe environment, following Atlantic Health System Policy including positive patient identification using the Two-Identifier System. Enters Computerized Laboratory Order Entry in Softlab as ordered by the provider. Releases Epic orders and Softlab orders. Transcribes orders as needed into Epic system from paper forms. Performs correct test as ordered by the provider. Uses laboratory references to ensure correct testing codes and correct collection tubes/ containers are utilized.
