Pharmacy Technician

+ Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient-centered care. Under general supervision, performs nonprofessional work assisting the pharmacist in routine duties of the pharmacy; performs some professional work under direct supervision of a pharmacist; performs related work as required.

+ Prepares purchase orders, places orders and receives incoming pharmaceuticals. Maintains minimum/maximum drug quantity levels, identifies and processes outdated medications per policy for credit. Purchases pharmaceuticals utilizing group or individual contract agreements and the associated computerized ordering systems; rotates stock.

+ A technician will stand-in for the “Inventory Control Specialist” in his/her absence.

+ Operates calculator, computers, copier, electronic (bar code) order entry device and other equipment.
