PHARMACY ASSISTANT, PHARMACY

Responsibilities

• Screen incoming prescriptions (in-patient and outpatient) and fill the prescription according to the directions given.
• Counter-check prepared drugs against the prescription and dispense drugs to patients, providing necessary instruction.
• Send all prepared or take-away drugs to wards.
• Compound lotions and mixtures and prepare dilutions for stock and for extemporaneous use.
• Repack bulk drugs into suitable units for dispensing.
• Indent for drugs, containers and labels for pharmacy use whenever required.
• Assist in stock‑taking.
• Assist Pharmacist(s) in ward checks.
• Reconstitute cytotoxic drugs.
• Adhere to all Acts, Laws and Regulations governing pharmacy services at all times.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist‑in‑charge and Pharmacist.
