Payroll Tax Specialist

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Specialist to support a complex, multi-state payroll environment for approximately 3,500 U.S. employees within a global organization. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on payroll tax compliance, registrations, amendments, reconciliations, and tax issue resolution while partnering closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, ADP, and external agencies.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working independently, and has extensive experience managing complex payroll tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage state and local payroll tax registrations, account maintenance, and jurisdictional setup activities.
• Coordinate state and local tax account closures and agency correspondence.
• Resolve payroll tax notices, penalties, assessments, and agency inquiries.
• Process and review Prior Quarter Adjustments (PQAs) and current-quarter tax corrections.
