The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) – Prescott Campus invites applications for a Research Technician in X-ray Astrophysics. This position offers students who have completed their undergraduate degree in physics or astrophysics the opportunity to gain intensive, hands-on research experience in high-energy astrophysics while contributing to cutting-edge studies of accreting neutron stars.

The appointee will join our Research Group and conduct a focused research project involving X-ray spectral and timing analysis using observations from leading space-based X-ray missions, including NuSTAR, NICER, Chandra, and XRISM. The primary scientific goal is to investigate how infalling material interacts with a neutron star’s intense magnetic field. The precise research direction will be developed collaboratively with PI.
