Job Description
NYU London is currently recruiting for a part-time lecturer to teach an undergraduate course in political theory in each semester, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Teaching commences in the Fall term (September - December 2026) and in the Spring term (January - May).
Course Descriptions:
Intro to Political Theory
What justifies the exercise of political power? How might we distinguish between legitimate and illegitimate political regimes? What types of political decisions should we leave in the hands of ordinary citizens? Under what circumstances might we resist our government? What limits should we place on the government? Should majorities rule over minorities? What alternatives might we have to a traditional state? This introductory-level course in political theory analyzes these questions through the close study of foundational texts, ancient and modern.
