Paralegal

The Paralegal role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of incoming materials supporting claims filed under Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). Following SOPs, checklists, and desk references, the Paralegal will review incoming claim packets to ensure required documents are present for the claim to proceed and be reviewed at higher levels. Communicates with the case team and with claimants to help collect needed documents.

This position is responsible for following specific guidance and standard operation procedures to:

+ Complete standardized forms.
+ Process legal documents, reviewing them for correct form and timeliness, and annotating case files and status records to reflect receipt and due date for response or other actions required.
+ Assist attorneys or paralegal specialists in compiling the case materials by retrieving, photocopying, and assembling documents, affidavits and legal memoranda.
