**Outside Machinist – Shipyard Mechanical Systems**

**Aerotek is looking for Outside Machinists for the Newport News shipyard with 1-3 years of experience. Pay is based off experience and you must be open to any shift.**

**What You’ll Do**

+ **Install, repair, and test mechanical systems** on naval vessels
+ Support major shipyard projects within the **Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH)** program
+ **Read and interpret mechanical drawings** for chill water, ventilation, and steam systems
+ Perform **system inspections and testing** , including flange/fitting checks and hydrostatic testing
+ Identify, assess, and repair **corrosion** on shipboard piping and mechanical components
+ Replace or repair **flow regulators, solenoids, temperature‑regulating valves, and isolation valves**
+ Troubleshoot and repair **ventilation systems** , including cooling coils, heaters, and duct components
