Job Requirements (knowledge/skills):
– AHIMA credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CCS-P
– 2+ years experience in ICD-9 CM and CPT coding
– Proficiency in the operation of computers
– Proficient in the use of an encoder/group
– Skilled in data entry
– High standards and work ethics
– Able to work efficiently under pressure
– Able to meet required deadlines
– Professional Mannerism
– Ability to problem-solve and make appropriate decisions

Job Responsibilities (functions):
– Ability to maintain a 98% accuracy rate in the assignment of codes
– Ability to demonstrate expertise in decisions related to assignment of codes
– High understanding of ICD-10/PCS and CPT coding principles and practices
– Fluent in coding rules and regulations
– Strong degree of compliance with coding guidelines
– Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills
