Job Description
Empower students with visual impairments to navigate their world confidently by providing essential Orientation and Mobility (O&M) instruction across various school settings. This contract opportunity will have you serving a diverse group of VI students—from 2nd grade through high school—by tailoring lessons that help them achieve greater independence. With 37.5 hours each week, you’ll have the flexibility to craft your own schedule that aligns with IEP requirements and maximizes support for students.
Key Qualifications:
- Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP)
- Hold, or be eligible for, a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching certificate
- Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired children or adolescents
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and record-keeping skills
