Posting Summary
 Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Operating Engineer III for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under the direction of the Senior Shift Supervisor, maintains, operates and repairs the stationery boilers and auxiliary equipment, throughout the Rutgers New Brunswick Campus.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of boilers, motors, pumps, compressors, valves, and other auxiliary equipment.

Operates boilers and pressure vessels at maximum efficiency at all times, resulting in minimum energy consumption.

Periodically makes comprehensive tests, takes readings of fuel consumption pressure, draft conditions, temperatures, steam flow and other recordings.

Adds chemicals to treat steam, water, fuel in accordance with requirements prescribed.
