Policies and Procedures

1. Ensure established unit policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programmes, and service standards are adhered to.
2. Interpret unit policies and procedures to new staff.

Clinical

1. Assess and analyse individual patients to determine their need for occupational therapy intervention through patient-centred practice.
2. Plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patients care, incorporating risk assessment, to maximise functional independence and rehabilitation potential.
3. Evaluate outcomes and ensure effectiveness of interventions.
4. Formulate a broad range of care plans, which require adjustment and modification dependent on need.
5. Planning and implementing patient-centred interventions, using specialised skills such as activity analysis, lifestyle management, energy conservation, anxiety management, specific functional activity, equipment...
