The Obstetrical Surgical Technician is a member of the Obstetrical healthcare team who provides technical support to the obstetrician/surgeon and registered nurse in the operating and delivery room settings. This position assists in the preparation of supplies and equipment for surgical and delivery procedures and provides the appropriate instrumentation necessary for the obstetrician/surgeon to perform these procedures. The OB Surgical Tech is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of trends in the operating room, including new products, procedures, and physicians' techniques. Provides assistance in the maintenance of aseptic cleaning of the Operating Room pre and post procedure and maintains a par level of supplies within the Family Birth Center.
