Nursing Assistant - Geriatric and Extended Care

Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA) will provide basic nursing care to Veterans/residents that have multiple complex medical and or emotional conditions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). The NA has the ability to observe, identify and respond to patient's needs for care including equipment to assisted with care. Responsibilities Major duties include, but not limited to: Will learn to appropriately utilize glucose monitoring machine to collect and document appropriate glucose readings for assigned Veteran/resident. Maintains a positive therapeutic relationship by displaying respect for human dignity with patient, families and/or significant others utilizing learned communication skills.
