The oncology nurse navigator (ONN) i s a professional registered nurse with oncology specific clinical knowledge who offers individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers. Using the nursing proces s, the ON N pr ovides education and resources to facilitate informed decision making and timely access to quality health and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the cancer continuum.

+ ONN demonstrates professionalism within the work place and the community, through effective teamwork.

+ Promotes lifelong learning and Evidence-Based Practice to improve the care of patients with past, current, or potential diagnosis of cancer.
