NUCLEAR ENGINEER

Summary

You will serve as a Nuclear Engineer in the Nuclear Quality Division, Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Responsibilities

• You will develop, plan and provide technical direction over complex operations involved in the exchange of nuclear fuel cells on a nuclear‑powered vessel.
• You will coordinate, monitor, review, and integrate the efforts of engineers, consultants, health physicists, quality control inspectors, and mechanics to develop and implement work sequences and procedures.
• You will carry out continuing review of the engineering and production work to ensure that the requirements for propulsion plant and related work are met.
• You will recommend design and process modifications to eliminate malfunctions or improve performance, including follow‑up with testing or other monitoring to ensure satisfactory outcome.
