Role Overview
As a Network and Firewall Specialist, you will deliver a major enterprise programme focused on reducing cyber risk through firewall remediation, Zero Trust segmentation, and least‑privilege access across the organisation. You will lead the identification and remediation of firewall and segmentation risks from audits and security assessments, including overly permissive rules, lateral movement exposure, DMZ weaknesses, and inadequate outbound controls. The role is responsible for designing and implementing a secure segmentation model across user, server, management, Tier‑0, and DMZ zones, enforcing controlled inter‑zone communication and eliminating unnecessary east‑west traffic. You will own firewall policy governance, ensuring rules are business‑justified, least‑privilege, fully logged, and regularly reviewed, including removal of “any/any” access and reduction of Active Directory exposure.
