Key Responsibilities

Providing Physical Database Administration:

• Plan and install existing database management software.
• Upgrade allowable patches for existing database management software.
• Create physical database shell.
• Plan and allocate database file-level storage at the operating system level.
• Create physical database storage structures (e.g., table spaces for DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, and My SQL).
• Maintain database security roles/views.
• Manage application interface IDs within the database management system.
• Solely manage DBMS system admin IDs/roles/privileges.
• Provide maintenance scripts for physical database aspects.
• Monitor and optimize DBMS performance and capacity.
• Plan and implement performance and capacity improvements.
