Municipal Enforcement Officer

Responsibilities

• Enforcement of town regulations including traffic, nuisance, animal control, occupancy and maintenance under the direction of the foreperson of municipal enforcement.

Qualifications

• College Diploma in Municipal Law Enforcement with two (2) years of experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of municipal by‑laws.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with various stakeholder groups (members of the public, external agencies, elected officials, and other city staff) with a customer‑minded approach and excellent communication skills.
• Experience in legal note‑taking, preparation of written reports, and serving legal documents.
• Experience with database software, preferably in an enforcement environment.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training is accepted.
• Willingness to work a varied shift schedule.
• Valid driver’s license.
