SUMMARY:
Medical Technologist follows procedures, performs & documents chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic tests. Obtains accurate results within procedure limitations with a turnaround time as stated in the procedure manual. Follows Policy and Procedural guidelines for the communication of critical test results including the timeliness and documentation. Discovers & corrects problems in a timely manner. Corrective action documented as required. Communicates in a courteous & professional manner to other team members in the hospital. Performs & records instrumentation maintenance and calibration procedures. Performs quality control procedures and maintains their records. Ensures compliance with QC protocol for running controls & accepting results. Notifies supervisor with out of control, discrepant or unexpected results in a timely manner.
