Medical Laboratory Technologist

Job Purpose



The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The role ensures that laboratory procedures are performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable quality standards, safety regulations, and ethical guidelines.



Key Responsibilities

Receive, label, and process patient specimens in accordance with laboratory procedures.

Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as:

Clinical Chemistry

Hematology

Microbiology

Immunology/Serology

Blood Transfusion

Histopathology (where applicable)

Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments.

Analyze, interpret, and validate test results before submission to authorized personnel.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
