Job Description

As a trusted UK Ministry of Defence partner, our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their Calibration & Maintenance Team. This varied and technically engaging role supports manufacturing across all stages of assembly, integration and test. You'll work within a driven, collaborative team, partnering with engineers and support functions to resolve routine and complex challenges. An HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the Metrology Department at the Bolton site
  • Support calibration and maintenance of COTS (Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf) equipment and STTE (Special‑to‑Type Test Equipment)
  • Assist production teams with technical queries relating to fixtures and tooling
  • Support CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspection activities
  • Guide operators on best practices within the metrology function and respond to day‑to‑day technical queries
