Materials Testing Technician

GEMTEC, a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, is seeking a skilled Materials Technician for our Bathurst, NB office. The role involves seasonal work from the beginning of May to the end of November, with potential for return next season.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology (preferred)
• Previous experience in materials testing and/or inspection
• Knowledge of ASTM, CSA, and other relevant testing standards
• CCIL certification for testing of asphalt, concrete, aggregates, or soils (asset)
• Experience with GPS and survey equipment (asset)

Main Duties

• Collect samples and perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials (concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates, etc.) to determine material properties and quality
