Maintenance Worker Helper

Summary This position is located at the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in Manhattan, KS. In this position, you will assist higher level employees with painting, carpentry and welding. Responsibilities Performs helper level tasks that support the repair and maintenance of facilities. Assists welders by preparing materials, performing simple welding tasks, and following all welding safety requirements. Uses measuring instruments such as tapes and rulers to measure materials and ensure proper fitting during carpentry, painting, and welding tasks. Uses pertinent repair and maintenance manuals to perform tasks correctly. Uses sprayers, rollers, brushes, putty knives, scrapers, sanders, and other power tools for painting tasks.
