Northumbria Police is recruiting a Maintenance Operative for the Business Services Team at Middle Engine Lane Police Station. The role involves building and vehicle maintenance, as well as ad‑hoc driving duties to support operational activities and ensure a safe working environment for staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain designated buildings to provide a safe and functional environment by conducting building checks.
• Carry out basic repairs and maintenance, including assessments, testing and scheduled servicing of buildings and equipment.
• Undertake office furniture moves and transfers to meet staff needs.
• Collect and dispose of confidential and non‑confidential waste, unwanted furniture and equipment.
• Provide cover for other driving posts when requested to maintain driver cover.
