MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Location: Wakefield

Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per year

Hours: Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00; Friday: 07:00 – 13:00

Opportunity

You’ll be working in a true engineering environment, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy workshop machinery. This role goes beyond routine line maintenance and offers real mechanical challenges, with a mix of reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance that keeps each day varied and engaging.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy mechanical equipment
• Work on machinery such as lathes, milling machines and presses
• Fault find on gearboxes, bearings, shafts and drive systems
• Support hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Carry out preventive maintenance (PPMs) and respond to breakdowns
• Perform basic electrical fault finding where required
• Support small improvement projects across the workshop
