Maintenance Assistant

One YMCA is seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our growing Place & Environment Team. This role is ideal for someone with a practical, hands-on approach who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services.

You will support the upkeep and improvement of our residential and community properties across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, helping to provide safe and welcoming environments for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out general maintenance and repair works, including:
Painting and decorating
•Replacing locks, door handles, and light fittings
• Basic carpentry, tiling, plastering, and general handyman tasks
• Assist with planned maintenance and refurbishment projects
• Prepare void properties for re-letting
• Complete work safely and in line with health and safety
