Machine Shop Welder

Overview


The Machine Shop Fabricator/Welder will weld metal equipment and parts as well as fabricate or repair parts according to layouts, blueprints, and work orders. Will weld precision machine parts in support of the machine shop.


Responsibilities


+ Ability to fabricate parts including lay out, cutting, fitting, measuring, and welding while holding overall tolerances.

+ Perform required tig weld on light gauge stainless steel on machine parts.

+ Perform mig welding of various metals such as stainless, aluminum, and iron.

+ Ability to read blueprints and engineering plans to perform work within specifications.

+ Will effectively use tools to perform activities of buffing, sanding, grinding, and polishing metal to a #4 finish.

+ Will effectively read calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
