LINC As one of the largest, most progressive and diverse urban districts in the province, Burnaby provides comprehensive educational programs and services to a diverse population of 24,000 full-time and 6,000 adult learners through an established Community & Continuing Education Program. The district operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, plus a number of additional facilities. The Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program offers free classes for recent immigrants. These courses focus on vocabulary development, grammar, speaking and listening, reading and writing, and settlement themes. These classes help students learn English for day-to-day living.
