Job Description

What you’ll be doing

as a Lifting Inspector

In this role, you’ll safely and competently complete lifting equipment inspections in line with LOLER regulations, helping to ensure our equipment remains compliant, safe, and available for operational use. Your work will directly contribute to reducing lifting-related risk, supporting operational reliability, and maintaining high safety standards across Thames Water sites.


Your responsibilities are:

  • Carrying out statutory inspections of lifting equipment and accessories across assigned geographic areas and asset groups.

  • Completing inspections safely, compliantly, and in line with agreed schedules and company procedures.

  • Applying LOLER 1998, PUWER 1998, and relevant industry standards during all inspection activities.

  • Recording inspection findings, defects, and certification details accurately within inspection databases and reporting systems.
