Under the supervision of the director of nursing, the licensed vocational nurse (LVN) provides nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with applicable nursing standards and regulatory requirements and supervises certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in the delivery of direct resident care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and maintain medical records and nursing notes; assess residents' physical and emotional status.
• Monitor resident activity and provide nursing care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, nursing standards, and facility policies.
• Coordinate and assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Transcribe and carry out physician telephone orders accurately.
